Who he is

About

Eric Rose is a program and product leader with more than 15 years of experience designing training and leading the teams and programs behind it for federal agencies and private-sector clients. More recently, he has led a software product and been brought in to steady a struggling program. His approach is to find the root cause, then build the schedules, processes, and quality systems that keep the work on track.

His range goes well beyond one job title. Eric has written a company’s quality manual and served as its internal ISO auditor. He built a product-management function from nothing and has led teams of up to 25. Outside the office, he diagnoses and repairs vehicles, boats, and small engines, runs live sound, and takes on woodworking and home-renovation projects.

Program & Project Leadership

Leads large, complex programs and has turned around a struggling one with clear governance, realistic schedules, and hands-on oversight.See the evidenceHide
  • Selected to take over and stabilize a high-priority program for a major utility client after earlier delivery problems. Ran the outsourced training design and development function end to end, including customer management, quality control, process, and program governance, and rebuilt the client’s confidence.
  • Put stage-gate governance in place and built a Monday.com program environment with project tracking and dashboards, giving leadership clear visibility into schedule, budget, and quality across concurrent projects.
  • Oversaw a two-year, roughly $3M government contract that delivered 30+ instructor-led courses on disaster response and recovery. The first option year was renewed within six months of the base year.
  • Directed teams of up to 25 instructional designers, developers, graphic artists, subject-matter experts, quality specialists, and editors, delivering 50+ projects valued at $30K–$1.5M each.
  • Built and managed schedules for multiple concurrent projects in MS Project, from analysis and design through client review, pilot testing, QC, and Section 508 review; tracked budgets and profitability against milestones.
  • Solved staffing conflicts, resource shortages, and shifting priorities by reallocating people in ResourceGuru, often sparing team members avoidable overtime and weekend work.
  • Negotiated scope changes with customers and found workable solutions when requests fell outside the contract, keeping everyone from front-line experts to Contracting Officer Representatives and senior executives informed.

Product & Growth

Built a software product-management practice from the ground up and helps win new work through solution design, pricing, and client demos.See the evidenceHide
  • Leads product management for Adapt2Learn, the company’s flagship AI-powered learning platform, covering product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle growth.
  • With no existing process, taught himself software development and product-management practices, then designed and put in place a workflow that fit the company, defining roles and GitHub-based work tracking.
  • Grew Adapt2Learn’s support from a single developer to a multi-role team, improving delivery capacity and product maturity.
  • Leads capture and proposal strategy: shapes technical solutions, informs pricing decisions, and positions the company against competitive requirements.
  • Builds and matures sales pipelines by identifying opportunities and qualifying client needs.
  • Leads executive-level product demonstrations and develops product messaging, demo narratives, and marketing strategy.

Process, Quality & AI

Writes the systems other people run on, from ISO 9001 and CMMI quality manuals to AI-assisted workflows that cut delivery time.See the evidenceHide
  • Wrote the company’s Process & Quality Control Manual, supporting ISO 9001:2015 and CMMI Level 3 certification, and served as an internal auditor for both.
  • Cut project workflow time by about 30% by bringing AI tools such as ChatGPT into planning, content development, and documentation.
  • Analyzed workflows and closed process gaps, formally and on the fly, to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Provided quality-control reviews of deliverables against project and industry standards.
  • Ensured Section 508 accessibility compliance to DHS Trusted Tester standards, verified through manual and automated testing.
  • Redesigned a team storyboard template to reflect actual development size, making communication with graphic artists and programmers more efficient.
  • Carried out a formal business analysis for a startup café to help management anticipate market shifts and staff changes.

People & Learning

Mentors leaders and designs training that helps people perform, from 3D certification exams to iPad trainers for line crews.See the evidenceHide

  • Served as lead instructional designer on a web-based certification exam in a 3D virtual environment for HVAC technicians in New York City buildings.
  • Served as lead instructional designer on an open-world, scenario-based simulation in which bank examiners practice detecting fraud, built to rigorous Section 508 standards.

Approach

How he works

Eric fixes the underlying cause, not the symptom. He treats the people on his teams as whole people, not units of output. His teams get direct communication, clear accountability, and practical systems that make the work easier to do well.

Personal

Workshop

When he’s not working, Eric is usually outside or in the shop, keeping a small fleet of vehicles, a boat, and a mower running, or building something out of wood.

Project

Reflections

The collected poems of Eric’s great-grandfather, Rigel Osborn Belt, restored from the family copy.
