Eric Rose is a program and product leader with more than 15 years of experience designing training and leading the teams and programs behind it for federal agencies and private-sector clients. More recently, he has led a software product and been brought in to steady a struggling program. His approach is to find the root cause, then build the schedules, processes, and quality systems that keep the work on track.
His range goes well beyond one job title. Eric has written a company’s quality manual and served as its internal ISO auditor. He built a product-management function from nothing and has led teams of up to 25. Outside the office, he diagnoses and repairs vehicles, boats, and small engines, runs live sound, and takes on woodworking and home-renovation projects.

- Selected to take over and stabilize a high-priority program for a major utility client after earlier delivery problems. Ran the outsourced training design and development function end to end, including customer management, quality control, process, and program governance, and rebuilt the client’s confidence.
- Put stage-gate governance in place and built a Monday.com program environment with project tracking and dashboards, giving leadership clear visibility into schedule, budget, and quality across concurrent projects.
- Oversaw a two-year, roughly $3M government contract that delivered 30+ instructor-led courses on disaster response and recovery. The first option year was renewed within six months of the base year.
- Directed teams of up to 25 instructional designers, developers, graphic artists, subject-matter experts, quality specialists, and editors, delivering 50+ projects valued at $30K–$1.5M each.
- Built and managed schedules for multiple concurrent projects in MS Project, from analysis and design through client review, pilot testing, QC, and Section 508 review; tracked budgets and profitability against milestones.
- Solved staffing conflicts, resource shortages, and shifting priorities by reallocating people in ResourceGuru, often sparing team members avoidable overtime and weekend work.
- Negotiated scope changes with customers and found workable solutions when requests fell outside the contract, keeping everyone from front-line experts to Contracting Officer Representatives and senior executives informed.

- With no existing process, taught himself software development and product-management practices, then designed and put in place a workflow that fit the company, defining roles and GitHub-based work tracking.

- Designed an iPad virtual-task trainer for the Altec AM55 aerial lift, used by electrical line workers spread across a wide area.
- Served as lead instructional designer on a web-based certification exam in a 3D virtual environment for HVAC technicians in New York City buildings.
- Served as lead instructional designer on an open-world, scenario-based simulation in which bank examiners practice detecting fraud, built to rigorous Section 508 standards.
- Designed a heavily animated course using a custom storyboarding technique that won a Bronze Omni Award and a MarCom Honorable Mention.
- Developed a two-week, hands-on course on investigating cybercrime for a global, multilingual audience, and evaluated its pilot in Trinidad & Tobago.
- Designed a two-day train-the-trainer seminar that turned subject experts into virtual instructors; participants called it “invaluable.”
- Designed and launched web-based courses for thousands of Foreign Service employees at the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute.
- Worked with federal agencies including the Department of State, FEMA, FAA, National Archives, Defense Security Service Academy, Veterans Affairs, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the U.S. Forest Service.

- Mechanical & equipment repair: Diagnoses and repairs vehicles, RVs, boats, and small-engine equipment, including engine, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Woodworking & home renovation: Hands-on woodworking, home repair, and renovation projects.
- Live sound: Lead sound technician for a midsize concert venue (1 year) and Red Stone Church (about 3 years); mixed 3–15 channels of drums, orchestral instruments, guitars, loopers, and vocals.
- Training technicians: Wrote job aids and trained new sound technicians on an Allen & Heath GLD 112 console and front-of-house PA.
- Business launch: Took a one-year sabbatical to help plan and open Prachtwerk, a community-focused café and music venue.
- Web & media: Has designed and coded websites since college, and planned, designed, and built this site with Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant. Also does graphic design, animation, and video scripting and direction.
